A key player in Naarm/Melbourne’s burgeoning jazz scene, trumpeter and vocalist Audrey Powne is a rising star in the jazz and soul world

Described as "the very brilliant Audrey Powne" by legendary BBC Radio 6 Music presenter and tastemaker Gilles Peterson, her 2024 debut album From the Fire under UK label BBE, received widespread critical acclaim, getting nominations for the Australian Music Prize and an ARIA award for Best Jazz Album.

Known for her extraordinary technical skills and creative inventiveness, as well as being unafraid of pushing the boundaries while simultaneously keeping musical traditions alive.

In addition to her solo work, her prowess as a trumpeter has seen her perform with artists including José González, Midnight Oil, Maceo Parker, and she is currently touring with The Teskey Brothers.
